Car Rental Terms and Conditions
Driver
Minimum age limit is 23 years for all Alpha Rent a Car fleet categories. The driver must have held a driving license for at least 1 year.
Only drivers listed on the rental contract are allowed to drive the car.
Additional drivers can be added to the rental contract upon request.
Driving license
A valid driver's license issued at least 1 year ago is required. Non-EU citizens are required to have an international driver's license, along with the driver's license issued in their country of residence.
Car Rental Agreement
- Renter & driver's ID/passport details, driver's license, vehicle details and duration must be provided.
- Smoking/Use: Smoking is prohibited, rentals outside the borders are prohibited and the renter is responsible for keys/remote controls, etc.
- Accident: In the event of an accident, the traffic police must be notified, the vehicle must not be moved before the traffic police arrive, information about those involved must be obtained, etc.
Payment method
The renter is required to provide at least 20% of the total reservation as a deposit. The rental is prepaid and paid in any case upon delivery of the car to the renter.
Cancellation policy
In the event of cancellation, the amount of the deposit and the reservation in general that has been made is refunded, as long as the cancellation has been made at least 48 hours before the expected rental of the vehicle.
Changes during car rental
If you wish to change your reservation upon receipt of the car, for example to rent a larger vehicle or to change the return date of the car, we will try to accommodate you, depending on availability, and there will be a different charge, depending on the new model you choose and the duration of the rental.
Returning the car earlier than the agreed period
Remember that there is no possibility of refunding any amount of money in case for any reason you return the car before the date and time indicated in the rental agreement.
The car must be returned in the condition in which it was received, at the agreed location and time, clean, without material damage caused during the rental and with the fuel level at the same levels as when the car was collected.
Late return
The rental prices of vehicles per day refer to a duration of 24 hours starting from the beginning of the rental. Alpha Rent a Car allows the return of the vehicle one and a half (1 ½) hours after the end of the pre-agreed rental period, without additional charge. If the vehicle is returned after this time, you will be charged an additional day.
Fuel Policy
The vehicle is returned on the agreed day and time and at the location indicated in the rental agreement with a quantity of fuel equal to the quantity it had at the time of collection by you, which is indicated in the rental agreement. In the event that you return the vehicle with more fuel, Alpha Rent a Car will not refund the difference. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than it was delivered to you, you will have to pay the difference.
Fines
Fines from administrative violations or other violations (e.g. police) that arise during the rental period are the responsibility of the renter, as well as a one-time fee of 30 euros for file costs.
Accident
In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately inform the company and the police and present the police incident report upon return.
He is obliged to immediately call both the traffic police and the accident care service provided by the vehicle's insurance coverage and wait as long as necessary for them to arrive at the scene of the accident. In the event that the customer for any reason leaves the scene of the accident before recording the incident, taking photos, etc. By demonstrating such unconventional behavior, his insurance coverage automatically ceases to be valid and he is obliged to fully compensate Alpha Rent a Car for any damage caused to the company's vehicle and to any third parties.
In general
The vehicles are insured:
Against third parties for material damage to third parties, a) the driver and their passengers b) the Alpha Rent a Car vehicle.
Exemption from payment of damage caused: The renter is fully exempted from liability for any damage to the car, above the exemption limit plus VAT, (500 - 1500 euros) depending on the category of the car as stated in the rental contract, provided that he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company's contract.
